Water Consumption

Hello Fit Girls!

I thought we should talk a little bit about water consumption. I know we all have heard that we should be drinking 8 cups of water per day. The fact of the matter is everyone’s water intake will be different. There are many factors that play a roll including your current weight, how active you are, and your health.

Well how much water should I be drinking then? Although I cannot give you an exact number I can help you find your number. This will be a tedious task for the first couple of days but it will help so much with your health and fitness goals.

Common Myths About Water Consumption:

First off, upon waking up in the morning drink 1 cup of water. After being asleep for so many hours, your body does get dehydrated. This will help you re-hydrate, boost your metabolism and jump start your internal organs. Experts say 16 ounces of water but I have found it hard to drink all of that upon waking (this will vary per person). Drink one cup of water 30 minutes before and after each meal. This helps your body digest better and may also help curb your appetite. Drink 8 ounces of water one hour before going to bed. Some experts say 8 ounces right before bed but I modified this according to my body (because I hate waking up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom). Water before bed is said to avoid heart attack or stroke. By following these steps, you’ll easily get four cups of water per day.

You can adjust anything you need to if it is not working for you. During the day or between meals make sure to drink water. When going to workout drink a cup of water half an hour before and half an hour after. Keep a water bottle close by to drink during your workout.

For the first couple of days I want you to keep track of how many ounces of water you drink. Again, this will vary per person. Pay close attention to how you feel during the day as well. Nausea, headache and disorientation may be signs of overhydration. Dry mouth, weakness, dizziness, and sluggishness may be signs of dehydration. If needed, jot down notes as to how you feel on the same sheet you keep track of the ounces you drink. After a couple of days you should be able to find how many ounces you should be drinking.

Please keep in mind these recommendations are based on my personal experience and may not work for everyone. These are just suggestions that can be modified to fit anyone. If you have any questions or suggestion, feel free to comment below. Thanks for stopping by!

Team Beachbody: New Coach

Hi again!

I have some exciting news! Yesterday I signed up to become a beachbody coach. I know I’m far from having a “beach body” but I have been participating in the 21 day fix for a few months now. Each time we complete a cycle we take a break for a couple days and then we jump back into it.

This time around is a bit different though, I decided to purchase shakeology to use in my next cycle of the 21 day fix. Upon ordering the shakeology bag and their new Cize program I decided to sign on as a coach. I decided on becoming a coach not only for the discount but to try and help as many people as I can. I think majority of the population struggles with eating healthy and staying active. Team Beachbody has helped me do this. Every diet or exercise kick I have been on before has failed and it’s not to say that the ones I tried didn’t work for other people, it just did not work for me. With this program I have found a support system and people who can relate to my situation. Now if I am being totally honest I’m not 100% sure that this will work for everyone who tries it however, with any of the products you buy there is a money back guarantee.

That being said I’m pretty sure that if you do get any of the products at Team Beachbody they are likely to work with the proper usage. I say “proper usage” because many people have a mentality that there is a magic diet pill out there somewhere and that when they find it all they have to do is take the pill and not change their eating habits or their exercise routine. Then viola! you’re down to your perfect weight. Let’s get real. There will be none of that here. But if you decide to take that first step, you’re already ahead of thousands of people who just think about it. If you want to check out what kind of products Team Beachbody has to offer you can check it out at http://www.teambeachbody.com/ or if you’d like to have me as a coach you can sign up at http://www.teambeachbody.com/signup?referringRepId=812337. By signing up to have me as a coach you are not obligated to make a purchase but you can take advantage of some of the tools they have to offer. One of them being having me as part of your support system.

So ask yourself, what’s stopping you?
